Logitech G613 LIGHTSPEED Keyboard Review From A To Z

The Logitech G613 LIGHTSPEED gaming keyboard is good in most ways. It is great if you want to cut down on the number of cables on your desk because it is wireless. The tactile mechanical Logitech Romer-G switches have a very short pre-travel distance, which is good for gaming but might not be the best for typing if you make a lot of mistakes. Some people might also think that the switches are too soft and don’t give them enough feedback when they press them. It has a very low latency, and there is software for both Windows and macOS. Also, it has a column of macro keys, which makes it a good choice for people who play MMOs. This keyboard is very flexible because you can use it with its dongle or through Bluetooth. This means it can work with a wide range of devices. But because its wrist rest can’t be taken off, it’s quite big and hard to carry around. It’s too bad that it uses disposable batteries and doesn’t have a backlight.

1. Design

The way it’s made is fine. The frame is made of hard plastic and doesn’t bend at all, but the ABS keycaps feel cheap, though not as much as the media keys. The wrist rest is also made of plastic, and it is attached to the base so it can’t be taken off.
This keyboard doesn’t have backlighting, which might be disappointing for some people and hard for those who like to play games at night. Check out the Logitech G413 or the Logitech G513 if you need backlighting.
The markings on the feet show that this keyboard has one tilt setting, which is about 8 degrees. The wrist rest that can’t be taken off is comfortable, but it would have been nice to be able to. The Logitech G PRO Keyboard is a good choice if you want a keyboard without a wrist rest.

The wireless flexibility of this keyboard is amazing. You can connect it to two different devices at once using Bluetooth or its receiver, and switching between them is easy. Even though it uses two AA batteries, the manufacturer says that, depending on how you use it, the batteries should last about 18 months. When the keyboard has 15% power left, an LED light turns on.
The media keys on this keyboard are in the upper right corner. These are very useful, especially when listening to music. On the left side, there is a column with six buttons for macros. There is a mode to lock the window so that your game doesn’t accidentally get smaller, and there are buttons to switch between the devices that are connected.

2. Typing experience

This keyboard is good for typing, but nothing stands out about it. The keys are pretty stable and feel like regular tactile switches. Even though you might hit a few keys by accident because of the short pre-travel distance, you probably won’t make a lot of mistakes because the key spacing is good. Unfortunately, the keycaps feel cheap and don’t have a nice feel like double-shot PBT caps. Also, the Romer-G tactile switches might be too soft for some people.

The Romer-G tactile switches on the Logitech G613 have a short pre-travel distance and don’t need much force to work. This makes typing on the keyboard quick and easy without getting tired. There is a very small bump before the switch is pressed, but it isn’t as noticeable as on Cherry MX Brown switches.

3. Software and operating system

The Logitech G613 works well with other devices. Almost every platform supports alphanumeric keys, but Apple operating systems don’t support a few of them. On Linux and Android, every key works, but there is no software that lets you change the keyboard to your liking.
The Logitech G613 can be used with the software for the G HUB. It works on both macOS and Windows, and your custom profiles can be saved and accessed through cloud sync, which requires an account. The software will only recognize the keyboard if you use the USB receiver or a wired connection. If you use Bluetooth, the software will not recognize the keyboard.

During testing, there were no software problems, but many online users have said that the Logitech G HUB software is hard to use, including but not limited to problems with starting up, freezing, and connecting some devices. If you’ve used Logitech G HUB with this keyboard and would like to share your thoughts, feel free to leave a comment in the discussions.

The Logitech G613 is a great keyboard for gamers. The keyboard feels responsive because its Romer-G tactile switches have a short pre-travel distance and a low actuation force. The build quality isn’t great, and the lack of backlighting could be a problem for people who play late at night when it’s dark.
