Logitech G502 HERO Mouse Review From [A] To [Z] In 2023

The Logitech G502 HERO is a gaming mouse that is wired and feels very well made. It is designed for people who use their right hand. It has a thumb rest and a lot of programmable buttons, including a sniper button. It also has a wide CPI range and a very low click latency. Even though it’s heavier than a dedicated FPS mouse, it comes with five weights that can be removed so you can move the weight around to suit your needs. It has a scroll wheel that can be unlocked to scroll freely, and it tilts left and right to scroll horizontally, which is a rare feature on a gaming mouse. Unfortunately, it’s a big mouse, so people with small hands might find it hard to hold it comfortably or get to all the buttons.
1. DESIGN
The Logitech G502 HERO is made to look like it was made for an aggressive gamer. It has sharp corners and RGB lighting. The CPI setting is shown by the two RGB zones in the logo and on the left side. The buttons are made of shiny black plastic, while the body is made of matte black plastic. The sides are covered with latex to make it easier to hold. The Logitech G502 seems sturdy and well-made. Even though the mouse wheel moves a little bit, it’s likely because of the L/R tilt feature. This is a common problem with mice that have this feature.
The Logitech G502’s weight distribution can be changed by adding or taking away one of the five 3.6g weights. You can also remove the plastic plate covering the space for adding weights to save more money, but doing so will make it harder to move the mouse, so both the Default Weight and Lowest Weight tests use the mouse with this bottom plate attached. If you want a lighter mouse, the Logitech G502 X, which is the newer version of this mouse, is much lighter.
The Logitech G502 HERO is easy to use because it is angled and has a place for your thumb to rest. But it’s a pretty big mouse, so people with small hands probably won’t find it comfortable to use.
Its feet are decent. They’re a little bit thinner than usual, and the edges are sharp, so they scratch desks and feel a little bit rough. On the plus side, they’re easier to move on mousepads.
2. CONTROL
On the Logitech G502, you can change almost every button except the one behind the scroll wheel. You can set up a second layer of commands by assigning a G-Shift button to the software. There are also buttons for switching profiles and CPI, which let you switch between your presets on the fly. There is also a sniper button in the thumb rest on the left side. Check out the Cooler Master MM830 for a mouse with a similar shape but a four-button D-pad on the left. The Logitech G502 HERO has a click latency that is very low and stays the same. When you use this mouse, there won’t be any noticeable delays when you click. The scroll wheel seems to work well. You can use a button behind the scroll wheel to turn it into a free-scrolling mode. It also has tilts to the left and right, which can be set up with the software. Check out the Razer Basilisk V3 if you want a full-featured gaming mouse with a scroll wheel that can be set to automatically switch between a notch-scrolling mode and a free-scrolling mode based on how fast you scroll.
3. OPERATING SYSTEM AND SOFTWARE
The G HUB software from Logitech is great. It works well with Windows or macOS and gives you many ways to change how your mouse works. This mouse also has its own memory, so you can save your settings and keep them even if you switch to a different computer. During testing, there were no problems with how this software worked. But many online users have said that Logitech’s G HUB has problems, such as starting up, freezing, and not being able to connect to certain devices. If you’ve used Logitech G HUB with this mouse and would like to share your thoughts, feel free to leave a comment in the discussions.

We tried out the black Logitech G502. There is a special edition (SE) version that is black and white, and a League of Legends collaboration version that is colored K/DA. The Logitech G502 HERO is an updated version of the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum. It is a wired gaming mouse with a high-end feel. It has a sniper button on the left side and a lot of buttons that can be set up in different ways. Even though it was made for gaming, it has features that are more useful in the office, like a scroll wheel that you can unlock to scroll freely and L/R tilts for horizontal scrolling. But this mouse is made for people with bigger hands, and its cable is a little stiff, which makes gaming slower.
The wireless Logitech G604 LIGHTSPEED mouse is better than the wired Logitech G502 HERO mouse, but for gaming, the G502 is better. The G604 is easy to use and has more buttons on the sides. On the other hand, the G502 is built a little better and has RGB lighting.
