Logitech G213 Prodigy Keyboard Review From A To Z 2023

The Logitech G213 Prodigy is a good keyboard for beginning gamers. It has rubber dome switches. It has a simple plastic frame that is easy to bend, and the keycaps are made of ABS, which feels cheap. Its zone-lit backlighting has no way to change the brightness, and it can only be changed through software. G HUB is good because it can be changed in a lot of ways and is available for both Windows and macOS. The keyboard’s low actuation force and built-in wrist rest make it comfortable enough to type on all day. However, typing on it doesn’t feel much different from typing on a typical membrane keyboard. There are controls for media, but you can only program a small number of keys.

1. Design

The quality of the build is not great. The keyboard is made of plastic all the way through, and the board bends very easily. The ABS keycaps feel just as cheap, and as oil builds up on them, they will probably get a shine over time. On the plus side, the cable is braided, and the rubber strip under the keyboard keeps it from moving around pretty well. It says on the package that it can handle spills, but we don’t test for that.
The Logitech G213 Prodigy Gaming Keyboard is a big, full-sized keyboard with a built-in wrist rest that can’t be taken off. It takes up a lot of space on your desk. Check out the Razer Ornata V3 X if you want a similar full-size gaming keyboard with a wrist rest that you can take off.
The way it works is good. The wrist rest is attached to the keyboard and is made of the same plastic as the keyboard. It feels a little cheap, but it does the job and is comfortable enough to type on for long periods.

2. yping experience

The quality of the typing is nothing special. Like most keyboards with rubber dome switches, the tactile feedback feels soft and unsatisfying, and the overall experience isn’t that different from a standard keyboard that comes with most pre-built computers. Also, the keys are stable, but typing on the ABS keycaps feels pretty cheap. On the plus side, typing feels easy, and you don’t feel tired after doing it for a long time.

The rubber dome switches on the Logitech G213 are a lot like the ones on the SteelSeries Apex 3. It doesn’t take much force to press the keys, so typing feels easy. When playing games, the high pre-travel distance makes the keyboard feel less responsive, but it can help you type more accurately. Since the tactile feedback isn’t very strong, it can be hard to tell when a keystroke has been registered. Check out the Keychron C2 if you want a similar keyboard that has mechanical switches instead of keys.

3. Software and system

The Logitech G213 has good compatibility. On Windows, everything works as it should, and you have full control over how it looks. Only the Pause and Scroll Lock buttons don’t work on macOS. On Linux, all of the keys work fine, but you can’t customize the keyboard or save any settings because there’s no software support or onboard memory.

The Logitech G213 works well with software. You can set macros to any of the function keys on the G HUB, but you can’t set macros to every key like you can on the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL. Since there is no memory on the device itself, all profiles are saved in the software. Check out the Corsair K55 RGB PRO XT if you want a gaming keyboard with software that lets you save settings to the keyboard itself.

During testing, there were no software problems, but many online users have said that the Logitech G HUB software is hard to use, including but not limited to problems with starting up, freezing, and connecting some devices. If you’ve used Logitech G HUB with this keyboard and would like to share your thoughts, feel free to leave a comment in the “Discussions” section.

The Logitech G213 Prodigy Gaming Keyboard is the only version of this keyboard, and we reviewed it. It’s the entry-level keyboard in Logitech’s G Series, which also includes the Logitech G Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard and the Logitech G915 LIGHTSPEED.
The Logitech G213 Prodigy is a decent gaming keyboard, but it’s not great. It’s good for office use because it’s easy to type on and has a long pre-travel distance, but the SteelSeries Apex 3 is a better option in this price range. Check out our suggestions for the best gaming keyboards, the best gaming keyboards with mechanical keys, and the best RGB keyboards for more options.
The Logitech G413 is better all around than the Logitech G213 Prodigy. The G413 is a mechanical keyboard that is much better made, and its Romer-G Tactile switches make it easier to type. Also, the G413 has a USB passthrough, the backlight can be set to different levels of brightness, and each key has its own light. On the other hand, the G213 has a built-in wrist rest and separate controls for music and videos. The backlight on the G413 only comes in red, but the backlight on the G213 comes in more than one color.
